My First Chapel Speech

Today I gave my first high school chapel speech here at Baiko. I was really nervous, which is odd for me. I usually don't get nervous speaking in public. Almost all of my speech was in English, so I was worried the students wouldn't really understand it. I don't yet feel confident enough to speak much Japanese in public. I also think it is good for the students, especially the English majors, to hear a speech in English. Once I started, I was pretty calm. I think it went alright. Several of the teachers complimented me (although, that is the polite Japanese thing to do). Mostly I'm glad it's over and I don't have to do another one until October 30th.
